The door at ‘Kiosk 2’ has been left open. Inside are two lads paying for beer, and the dyed blonde owner with black mascara and solarium-tanned skin. Also available at the kiosk: stacks of envelopes between packets of Pringles and charcoal briquets. Three freezers packed with beverages, computers offering a browse on the web, a coffee dispenser, a microwave, firecrackers, sauerkraut, chocolate, tobacco. All drenched in neon lights. Turkish music is seeping out of a screen hanging above the counter. Placed in front of it: the deep freeze.
My street`s my Advent calender. Today`s date is the 1st of
December 2015. I ring the doorbell at 1 Teichstraße in
