In April 2023, katharinajej is invited to Dresden Friedrichstadt by the cultural association riesa efau. katharinajej is unfamiliar with the Friedrichstadt district—but that is about to change. She wants to get to know the neighborhood and its residents. However, she receives warnings from various sides: she is told that there are many neo-Nazis in Friedrichstadt who could be aggressive, and that she should not put herself in danger.
katharinajej remembers Little Red Riding Hood, who was warned by her mother about the wolf before she went into the forest. She slips into a red coat, packs cups, tea, coffee, and cookies into a wicker basket, and sets off for Friedrichstadt. Under her coat, she carries stories with her—stories about danger, about what to expect, about what could happen. Unlike in the fairy tale, however, in which Little Red Riding Hood is supposed to avoid the wolf, katharinajej consciously makes contact with people in Friedrichstadt—with a queasy feeling but also with great curiosity.
Afterwards, katharinajej writes about her experiences. The diary-like text recounts her encounters and observations, her feelings and impressions, but above all the real, everyday life of the people of Friedrichstadt.
