katharinajej lives in Cologne already for many years. When she is out and about in the city, there are a few places that she prefers to avoid. These are places that she finds unpleasant. Her friends feel the same way. katharinajej asks them about what they consider to be the most dangerous places in Cologne.
Dressed as Little Red Riding Hood, she then visits the places she has been warned about or where she herself does not like to spend time: Wiener Platz, Breslauer Platz, Ebertplatz and the Josef-Haubrich-Hof near Neumarkt.
katharinajej lingers in these places in her Little Red Riding Hood coat and keeps an eye out for her wolves. What or who makes her feel uneasy? Is it the people hanging around?
Unlike in the fairy tale, in which Little Red Riding Hood is warned by her mother about the wolf in the forest, that should not be met, katharinajej searches for her wolves in these places and approaches them. By getting to know people, she wants to confront her own fears, build understanding and connection and soften her reservations about people and places.
After the encounters, katharinajej writes about them and, as Little Red Riding Hood, reads about her experiences on site. Her readings are about grass, crack and heroin. There is dealing, crying and sharing. People sleep outside, are sick, traumatized or have been beaten. Marriage proposals are made, addiction is lived. Pigeons fly by. And sometimes the police come by.
